2022 Kia Seltos facelift – New details emerge!
Kia Seltos was a game-changer SUV when it was launched in India. Kia debuted in India with the Seltos. The Seltos contributes to almost sixty percent of the total sales of Kia India. The SUV when launched was a strong seller in the market but now faces some serious competition from new entrants in the segment. Kia did give the Seltos an update in 2021, but it still awaits a proper facelift to stay ahead of the competition. 2022 Kia Seltos Design
The design of the Kia Seltos has been a strong factor that makes this car so popular. Kia is expected to give the design a major overhaul. New headlamps & tail lamps, new bumpers and newly designed alloy wheels to differentiate from the current model will be on offer.
Kia is also expected to add some new funky colours along with some dual-tone options as well. Dimensions of the Kia Seltos will mostly remain unchanged. Currently, the Kia Seltos only offers a regular-sized sunroof, however the facelift will be offered with a big panoramic sunroof like the Hyundai Creta.
2022 Kia Seltos Features
The cabin of the Kia Seltos is expected to receive some changes as well. It will get an updated dashboard layout. The SUV is also expected to receive the electronic parking brake, something that the Creta has already been offering to its buyers.
The UVO connected car tech could get new voice assists for added convenience. Kia offers its US-spec Seltos with ADAS. Looking at the competition, we expect the Seltos India facelift to come with ADAS now. This will also be a positive thing for the Seltos as it has faced backlash in the past for the safety that it has on offer.
Specifications
Currently, the Seltos is available with two petrol engines and one diesel engine. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 113bhp & 144Nm of torque. The 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine produces 138bhp & 242Nm of torque. While the 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 113bhp & 250Nm of torque. All these engines are offered with a manual and various types of automatic gearboxes. As this is going to be a facelift, we expect Kia to continue the same engine options.
Pricing and Launch
The pricing of the Kia Seltos starts from Rs 11.57 lakh and goes to Rs 21.78 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With an updated design and added features, Kia is expected to hike prices by Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000. The Kia Seltos facelift is expected to hit the markets by mid-2022.
