Kia has tasted great success in India. Since the brand’s entry in 2019, it has raked in good sales. Kia is looking to continue the momentum by launching new products. It recently unveiled its new car in India, the Carens. Now we have obtained real-life images of the 2022 Kia Carens. In today’s article, we will take a look at these real-life images.
Exterior design
The Kia Carens comes with an aggressive design language. At the front, it gets a small grille with a chrome strip in the middle. The design looks quite futuristic in real-life images. Coming to the side profile, it gets that MPV-like look due to the extra row. At the rear, it gets wraparound tail lamps and chrome accents on the bumper.

The Carens get premium-looking interiors with a modern dashboard layout. The dashboard of the Carens gets a glossy look with a big infotainment system integrated into it. Other interior highlights include a three-spoke steering wheel, a fully-digital instrument cluster and ambient lighting.
Specifications
The Carens is expected to come with two petrol and one diesel engines configurations. The first petrol engine is a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated unit capable of producing 113bhp & 144Nm of torque. Second engine is 1.4-litre turbo-petrol capable of producing 138bhp & 242Nm of torque. The last engine is a 1.5-litre diesel engine capable of producing 113bhp & 250Nm of torque. The naturally-aspirated unit is expected to come mated to a manual gearbox only, while the other two are expected to offer manual and automatic gearbox options.
2022 Kia Carens Features
Kia has loaded the Carens with a lot of features. It will get an electric sunroof, premium Bose sound system, 64-colour ambient lighting, front ventilated seats, a 10.25-inch infotainment system and drive modes. The Carens will get six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC and all-wheel disc brakes standard on all variants.
Launch and pricing
Kia has already unveiled the Carens. Considering that the car has been spotted in real-life, we expect the launch to happen in January of 2022. The pricing of the Kia Carens is expected to start from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). This car will sit between the pricing of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Toyota Innova Crysta.
