Kia Motors has recently unveiled its upcoming car – Carens. Its cars like the Seltos and Sonet are raking in good sales. Even the Carnival, a niche product, is doing good numbers for the brand. But Kia is looking to continue this momentum by launching new products like the Carens. In today’s article, we will see between Kia Seltos vs Carens, what makes more sense.
Dimensions & space
The Seltos is 4315mm in length, 1800mm in width & 1645mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2610mm and has a ground clearance of 190mm. Kia Carens, on the other hand, is 4540mm in length, 1800mm in width & 1700mm in height. The Carens sits on a wheelbase of 2780mm and has a ground clearance of 195mm. Dimension-wise, the Carens is bigger in all aspects over the Seltos. These bigger dimensions will translate into more interior space on the Carens. Even if you don’t need that extra row of seats, you can fold them and use the bigger boot.
Kia Seltos vs Carens – Specifications
Both the cars are based on Kia’s K2 platform. Engine-wise also both the cars come with the same engine and transmission options. The engine includes a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, 1.4-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The naturally aspirated engine comes with a manual gearbox. The other two engines will offer manual and automatic gearbox options.
Kia Seltos vs Carens – Features
Both the cars come loaded with features. The Seltos offers features like a 10.25-inch infotainment system, an electric sunroof, heads-up display, paddle shifters, 360-degree camera, wireless phone connectivity, ventilated seats and wireless charging.
The Carens offers features like a 10.25-inch infotainment system, air purifier, 64-colour ambient lighting, bose audio system, ventilated seats, roof-mounted AC and spot lamps. Kia also offers six airbags, ESC, ABS with EDB and TPMS standard.
So should you wait?
You should definitely wait for the Kia Carens as it offers almost everything over the Kia Seltos, barring some features like a heads-up display, electronic parking brake and blind-view monitor. Apart from these, the Carens is bigger than the Seltos, offering more space inside the cabin. It is also expected to be priced competitively over the Seltos.
