Toyota Rs 10 lakh SUV to get new technology
Toyota has partnered with Maruti Suzuki and has already introduced two products Glanza and Urban Cruiser in the last few years. Maruti Suzuki is currently working on bringing the new generation Vitara Brezza. The Urban Cruiser which is the same car rebadged by Toyota is also expected to undergo major changes. In this article, we will discuss our expectations from the Toyota SUV, the new generation of Urban Cruiser in India.
Toyota and Maruti Suzuki Plans
Toyota and Maruti Suzuki are working together on a lot of hybrid products to be introduced in India. They are reportedly working on the expansion of Suzuki’s Sanad plant that is located in Gujrat. This expansion is done to manufacture battery packs that will be used in upcoming cars from Toyota and Maruti Suzuki. The first car with these battery packs from Toyota will be the new generation Urban Cruiser.
Toyota’s Advanced Technology
The new generation Urban Cruiser will get a proper hybrid system. Something similar to what we currently see in the Camry Hybrid from Toyota. In the new generation Urban Cruiser the SUV will get a 1kWh or 2kWh battery pack. This battery pack will have regenerative capabilities. This will significantly improve the fuel efficiency of the Urban Cruiser.
It’s Practical
The hybrid system used in the Urban Cruiser will offer a lot of different capabilities. The motor can be quite useful to increase the overall efficiency of the car. upcoming emission norms will be more strict, even small diesel engines will need diesel particulate filter(DPF) filters. The issue with DPF filters is that they require a lot of highway running and maintenance. Therefore people with low highway running and mileage consciousness will choose hybrid cars like the Urban Cruiser. This hybrid motor will offer better performance and better high altitude performance too.
