5 things we expect in 2022 Tata Nexon

The Nexon is a high volume seller for Tata Motors. It is one of the best selling cars in the compact SUV segment as well. The facelift helped the compact SUV increase its sales. The Nexon is famous for its high safety ratings and features. But it still lacks some things that can make it an even better product. Tata is expected to be working on the new-generation Nexon for 2022. In today’s article, we will see five things we expect from the 2022 Tata Nexon.

What is Tata going to do after Punch?

Proper automatic 

One of the major weaknesses of the Nexon is its AMT gearbox. It comes with AMT gearbox paired to petrol and diesel engines. But AMT gearboxes are a basic implementation of automatic gearbox and don’t offer the same smoothness as a proper automatic. Other competition cars in this segment offer proper automatic gearboxes. So Tata should look to give it a proper automatic gearbox like either a torque converter or a DCT or a CVT option.

Tata Nexon 2022 – New instrument cluster

Currently, the Nexon comes with a digital instrument cluster. But it gets a blacked-out digital instrument cluster, which is hard to read. Other Tata cars like Altroz and Nexon EV get a semi-digital instrument cluster the information on which is much easier to read. Tata should either give it the semi digital-instrument cluster or a fully-digital instrument cluster.

New infotainment system

Infotainment sizes have become an important selling point in cars. The Nexon comes with a 7.0-inch infotainment system which is decent. With that being said, it seems quite small when compared to the competition that gets even bigger infotainment units. Tata should give the Nexon a bigger infotainment screen and also improve the UI to utilise the big screens properly.

Wireless charging and connectivity

Wireless charging and wireless connectivity offer a clutter-free dashboard experience. Also, now more and more phones are coming with wireless charging capabilities. Users will greatly appreciate the convenience of wireless charging in the Nexon. Also, wireless phone connectivity gives you full control of your phone without any wires, providing great convenience. 

Tata Nexon 2022 – Ventilated seats 

Ventilated seats are a must-have comfort feature in our hot and humid climate. Ventilated seats are quickly becoming a norm in this price range. In the compact SUV segment, the Kia Sonet gets it in its top variants. Tata recently added this feature on the Tata Safari as well, so we expect Tata to offer it with the Nexon as well.
