The sunroof is one of the most demanded features in India. Almost all cars above Rs 15 lakh get a sunroof. So it comes as a surprise that the Fortuner misses out on it. Toyota has given reasons like safety and heating for not installing a sunroof.

ADAS is quickly becoming the norm in the Indian market. Cars in the lower segment like the Mahindra XUV700 and MG Astor are also getting ADAS functionality. Toyota should bring ADAS to Fortuner to increase its safety quotient.
Digital instrument cluster
Digital instrument clusters have become the norm in the industry. They offer more data and are also easier to read than a traditional analogue cluster. The Fortuner also deserves a digital instrument cluster in its next update.

The electronic parking brake is another innovation that is fast becoming the norm. It provides great convenience and functionality over a traditional hand brake. An electronic parking brake with auto hold will be ideal for a car like a big car like a Fortuner.

An auto-dimming IRVM is a great thing for people driving at night. It automatically dims the light coming from vehicles behind you. It protects you from blinding bright light glares. It is quite a basic feature that should have been present on the Fortuner.
Connected car tech
Fortuner recently received connected car technology in it. But it is quite basic for now. Toyota should look to give it more connected features to properly utilise its potential.

Similar to wireless charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay also provide great convenience. Wireless connectivity is a really useful feature to have. Toyota needs to update its infotainment system to enable wireless phone connectivity.
