The Mahindra XUV700 was one of the most highly anticipated cars in India. With the set of features and specifications, it has shocked various segments in the Indian market. The XUV700 five-seater directly competes with the Tata Harrier. The Harrier has been a strong product for Tata since its launch in 2019. However, the product has not received any major update for quite some time now. Tata is now expected to be working on a Harrier facelift in order to take on the XUV700. In today’s article, we will see how the 2022 Tata Harrier will shock the Mahindra XUV700.

The Tata Harrier currently comes only with a diesel engine. Tata is working on a new petrol engine to use in the Harrier and Safari. A petrol engine will help Tata to lower the starting price. From a customer standpoint, it will be better for buyers with less running. Also, the upcoming emission norms will make diesel engines costlier. A 2.0-litre petrol engine would be desirable to take on the XUV700.

Design update

2022 Tata Harrier

The Tata Harrier already comes with a great design. However, the facelift will come with some subtle changes to keep it up to date. It will get updated bumpers and new chrome elements. The headlamps will be converted to a full LED setup with a minor change in positioning. We do not expect to see any drastic changes done to the overall styling. We might get to see some new colour options.

The Mahindra XUV700 has revolutionised this segment with its features. To counter this, Tata will bring a lot of new features to the Harrier. It will get features like an air purifier, ambient lighting, ventilated seats, wireless charging, wireless Android Auto & Apple Carplay and a 360-degree camera.  Another much-needed change will be a bigger and better infotainment system.

Advanced Driver System Assistance (ADAS)

2022 Tata Harrier

ADAS has become the new talk of the town with the launch of Mahindra XUV700 and MG Astor. MG is also working on bringing ADAS to Hector. It is now expected to become a norm in the Indian market, which is a good thing considering its safety benefits. Tata has been very vocal regarding safety in its car. The Harrier could thus get ADAS with its facelift. It will also help the Harrier to take on the XUV700 and other upcoming cars.
