The Harrier is a popular SUV from Tata Motors that is placed in the mid-size SUV segment in India. This SUV has a separate fan base. The car is known for its bold and aggressive design which gives this SUV a muscular road presence. The Tata Harrier was launched in January 2019 and is due for an update. In this article, we will discuss three important features that we can expect to be added to the Tata Harrier facelift.

Tata Harrier Petrol Engine

Currently, the Tata Harrier is offered in 21 variants but offers only a diesel engine. SUV buyers have always preferred diesel engines, but with changing trends, many buyers now prefer a petrol-powered SUV. Other SUVs that compete against the Tata Harrier do offer petrol and diesel engines. Tata Motors is expected to be working on a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. The next update for the Tata Harrier is expected to bring with it a petrol engine along with the options of manual and automatic gearboxes.

Tata Harrier More Features

Every car buyer looks for a car that offers maximum features yet fits within their budget. Tata Harrier is a decently feature-loaded car. With new cars (MG Astor & XUV700) now added to its list of competitors, Tata Motors should consider adding more features to the Harrier. Heads-Up-Display unit (HUD)is a feature that is quite useful while driving and could be added to the Tata Harrier.

A 360-degree camera could be really useful on a car of this size. Currently, the Tata Safari gets an electronic parking brake and we expect the Harrier to get it in its next update. It could also get features like ventilated seats, wireless charging, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, air purifier, and ambient lighting. Another addition could be a bigger touchscreen with an improved user interface.

ADAS

ADAS

Cars like MG Astor and XUV700 come with ADAS. ADAS being a new technology is attractive to car buyers who consider safety as a top priority. Tata Harrier is feature-loaded but misses out on ADAS. Adding Level-2 ADAS on Harrier would boost the sales of this SUV. With ADAS added, tech-savvy and safety-conscious people would also be attracted to the Tata Harrier.
