Mahindra will be launching the new XUV500 next year and this will be powered by a new 1.5-litre diesel engine that will be powering other new Mahindra vehicles too. For export markets, the XUV500 will be powered by the 1.5-litre petrol engine. This engine will be shared with Ssangyong too, which it will be using for its other vehicles. The automatic transmission on the XUV500 will be the AISIN transmission. The XUV500 will also be made available with a 2.0-litre petrol engine as well. this will happen sometime in early FY17. Mahindra XUV500 Hybrid Engine
The XUV500’s hybrid engine will be producing similar power of 140bhp and it will about one lakh more than the currently sold XUV500. It will available in two trim levels to begin with and more variants could be added depending on the demand. The XUV500 hybrid has been made and tested with Mahindra Reva team. This is another strong product that Mahindra will be looking at exporting to developed countries. Mahindra already has plans to export new electric vehicles to Europe and this hybrid will also be a part of its export product portfolio.

Mahindra XUV500 hybrid Launch Date
The XUV500 will be launched by early FY17. At the moment, the company is working on making all its products with AMT/automatic and even adding petrol engines to its portfolio.
Mahindra XUV500 Hybrid and other products
The Quanto facelift will be powered by this new engine. The Quanto facelift (codenamed as U215) is undergoing a major upgrade. It will be sharing the same platform with the Xylo (Ingenio) but it will be a lot different from the currently sold Quanto. Mahindra will be renaming the Quanto and it will come feature-loaded too.
