The price of a brand new Toyota Fortuner starts at Rs 36.71lakh and the top-end variant is priced at Rs 51.45 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). In the premium, seven-seater SUV segment Tata Safari is a popular car with a base variant starting from Rs 18.41 lakh and a top-end variant priced at Rs 28.31 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). In October 2021 Toyota Fortuner sold 1,893 units while Tata Safari sold 1,735 units. Despite being at almost double the price of the Safari, the Toyota Fortuner managed to outsell the Safari.
