In 2016, when the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza was launched, it created a sensation in the compact SUV segment. The Vitara Brezza is still a popular compact SUV in the segment. The car currently faces competition from existing compact SUVs like the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, and the Hyundai Venue. While other newcomers in the segment like the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and the Kia Sonet are also becoming popular amongst SUV buyers. The Vitara Brezza needs a big update to stay ahead in the competition. In this article, we will discuss our expectations from the new generation 2022 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.

Maruti Vitara Brezza Design and Features

Maruti Vitara front

The new generation Maruti Vitara Brezza will get a fresh look with a newly designed exterior. The Brezza will continue to carry its boxy silhouette that has been a part of its identity. The SUV is expected to get new body panels, 17-inch alloy wheels, and new cladding on the sides. Along with a new set of bumpers, the Projector LED headlamps will be sleeker and the new LED tail lamps at the rear.

The interiors will also see a major revamp. A bigger floating touch screen, better-connected car features, and wireless charging are some features that will get added to the Maruti Vitara Brezza. New upholstery and more soft-touch materials along with better storage are also expected to be included in the Maruti Vitara Brezza.

Maruti Engine

It’s been nearly five years since its launch and previously the Vitara Brezza was available with a diesel engine. The Vitara Brezza currently gets a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 103bhp and 138Nm of torque with an option of the manual or automatic gearbox to choose from. We expect the Brezza to continue to get a petrol engine with a proper hybrid system.

The Vitara Brezza is the only car from Maruti Suzuki to score a four-star rating at the Global NCAP. The new generation of Vitara Brezza will be built on the Heartect platform making it even safer. We also expect the Vitara Brezza to get six airbags to be included in its list of safety features.

Launch and Pricing

Previously the Vitara Brezza was estimated to get launched by the festive season of 2021. The Pandemic and the ongoing chip shortage have resulted in a delay of its launch, which now might be in the first quarter of 2022. The new generation Maruti Vitara Brezza is expected to be Rs 50,000 to Rs 70,000 more expensive than the currently available Brezza.
