Citroen is the newest entrant into the Indian market. It is following a top-down approach. It launched the Citroen C5 Aircross earlier this year. Though it is a great car, it is on the expensive side. To cater to a wider audience, it is working on a more affordable car. This new affordable car is the Citroen C3. Citroen has already unveiled the design of the C3 and some of its features. Now we have got spy shots revealing some more features. In today’s article, we will see the spied Citroen C3.

What was spied on?

We have spy shots of a hatchback with high ground clearance. The car was spotted in Tamil Nadu with heavy camouflage, so not many details can be figured out. But the rear tail lamps design hint at it being the C3. The spied car also gets roof rails similar to the unveiled C3. Citroen is testing the C3 properly for the rigorous Indian weather conditions. Another thing the spied shots reveal is the fully digital instrument cluster in action.

The Citroen C3 follows Citroen’s quirky design language. The front of the car gets a split headlamp setup integrating into the grille with the logo in the middle. The rear gets rectangular tail lamps and bumpers. In the interior, it gets a well laid out dashboard with some resemblance to the C5 Aircross.

Citroen C3 spied- Specifications

The C3 is based on the Citroen CMP platform. It is 3.98m in length and has a boot space of 315-litres. It is expected to be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. This engine will come mated with a 5-speed manual and an automatic gearbox. Citroen will not offer a diesel engine on the C3.

Citroen will look to load the C3 with features to compete with the established players. It comes with features like wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a fully digital instrument cluster, wireless charging and a 10.1-inch infotainment system are some of the key ones.

Citroen C3 spied- Launch and pricing

Citroen has done a lot of localisation on the C3 to keep the costs down. So we expect them to price the C3 competitively. Citroen is expected to start production by the end of this year and launch the car early next year. It will rival products like the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite and other hatchbacks in this price range.
