Mahindra is ready to launch bio-diesel powered vehicles if and when it is required. In a conversation with Dr Pawan Goenka, Executive Director, Mahindra & Mahindra, he stated, “Mahindra is ready to launch bio-diesel from the very next day if required.”

Bio-diesel is a lot more green than the regular diesel. If there is ever a need to switch to bio-diesel, Mahindra and even most of the other auto makers are ready to move to this fuel. Mahindra for the moment is considering a new strategy either to downsize its existing 2000cc+ engines and at the same time even working towards getting new small compact SUVs. The Mahindra KUV100 is one of them and the Indian utility manufacturer has plans to get green and lighter vehicles.

Mahindra is the only Indian automaker to have fully electric vehicles that are sold in India. The Indian automaker has plans to launch more products that are completely electric. It has even made electric version of the Maxximo, which is used as a taxi in the rural part of the country. Mahindra is one of the worst affected automakers as most of the SUVs they sell in India are powered by engines that has a capacity in excess of 2000cc.
