New-generation Maruti Alto gets better head & tail lamps
Maruti is known for its affordable car lineup. Their entry-level cars like the Alto and Celerio contribute a lot to their sales figures. But Maruti has not updated these cars in a long time. Actually, Maruti has not launched any new products for quite some time now. But Maruti is working on a sleeve of products, the first being the new-generation Celerio. After that, Maruti is expected to bring in the new-generation of the Alto. Recently, we have spotted a car in testing that is the new-generation of the Alto. In today’s article, we will discuss this new-generation Maruti Alto.
What has been spied on?
A car with heavy camouflage was spotted in Haryana. It is easy to figure out this is the new-generation of the Alto due to its compact size. The car was spotted during the night, so it is hard to figure out many details. The rear of the car will get squared shaped taillamps. Like the new-generation Celerio, the new-generation Alto will also get a more curvy design than the current generation. The front of the car will get pearl-shaped projector headlamps.
What else will it get?
The new-generation Alto will most likely be based on the Heartect platform. All the new Maruti cars are based on it, including the S-Presso. It may get a new 1000cc engine seen on the S-Presso. In the interiors, it is expected to get a modern dashboard layout. Expected changes include a new AC vent design, multifunction steering wheel and new seating & upholstery. Maruti is also expected to load the new-generation Alto with a decent amount of features. All four-power windows, rear wipers, dual airbags and touchscreen infotainment will be the added features.
Launch & pricing
The launch of the new-generation Alto has been delayed a lot due to the Pandemic. But now, with increasing spy shots, it is expected to be launched in 2022. The pricing of the current-gen starts from Rs 3.73 lakh and goes to Rs 5.45 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Maruti will ask for a premium of 40-50k on the new generation depending upon the variants.
