Hyundai Motors Indonesia released sketches of Hyundai Creta which will be launched in the Indonesian market in the coming future. The car is expected to debut next month at the Indonesian Auto Show also known as GIIAS 2021, which starts on 11th November 2021. The 2022 Hyundai Creta facelift will come to India next year, so let’s take a look at what has been released and also let’s discuss expectations.

Hyundai Creta 2022

2022 Hyundai Creta Design

The first thing that you notice in the sketches released is the grille of the car. Hyundai calls it the Parametric Jewel Grille.  The grille on the Creta facelift seems to be inspired by the Santa Cruz pickup truck and the Tucson that are available in international markets. The sketches however do not confirm if the Creta will get the same LED DRL as the Tucson that seems to merge with the grille when switched off. The rear design of the Creta facelift resembles a lot with the updated Creta currently available in Russia. The rear gets boomerang-type rear taillights and a high-mounted stop lamp which is placed at the integrated spoiler. The car looks wider and stable from the sketches released.

Interiors

The car that will be available in Indonesia will have two seating options ie. a five-seater and a seven-seater. The interiors of the five-seater remain unchanged, however, the seven-seater will be a new layout. There are no changes in dimensions and the third row will get a small bench seat that resembles the seven-seater Sonet that’s sold in Indonesia. In India, we will continue to get the Alcazar as a seven-seater version of Creta. Currently, the Hyundai Creta gets ventilated seats, BlueLink connectivity, electrically adjustable seats, a 10.25-inch touch screen infotainment system, and driving modes. We expect some features from Hyundai Alcazar to be bought to the Creta facelift.

Specifications

Currently, gearbox options include a manual gearbox, DCT, CVT, and torque converter. Automatic gearboxes come with paddle shifters. Indonesia will get 1.5-litre petrol engine only in the Creta facelift while in India the Creta will continue to get the same three engine options that are currently available in petrol and diesel.

Launch

Looking at the trend Hyundai follows. We expect the Hyundai Creta facelift to come to India by the second half of 2022. The car will look very similar to the Creta that will be launched in Indonesia. The Creta that’s coming to India will get some more features and even get ADAS.
