Kia to launch Maruti Ertiga competition soon
Kia is enjoying a successful run in the Indian market. Its two products, the Seltos and Sonet, have sold in good numbers. Now Kia is looking to venture into even more segments. It is looking to venture into the Maruti Ertiga segment. This new Kia car will be the Sonet 7-seater. Through this, Kia will be looking to see sales from the Ertiga. This Sonet 7-seater has been spotted testing in India, hinting towards its launch. In today’s article, we will see Kia’s Ertiga competition.
Kia Ertiga competition Exterior design
Design-wise it will be identical to the normal Sonet. From the spotted test mule, it is clear that it will continue Sonet’s aggressive design language. The side profile is where you will see the most changes due to the extended row. This extended row makes the car look bulky and big. Maybe it will be offered more headroom than the normal Sonet.
Interior design
Like the exterior, the interiors will be also similar to the Sonet. The interiors will offer a premium feel. It will carry forward most of the Sonet features like tyre pressure monitoring, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, premium sound system and wireless charging etc. Additionally, it might get a heads up display and charging spots in the third row. This feature will help Sonet to compete with Ertiga.
Kia Ertiga competition Specifications
The Kia Sonet 7-seater will be based on the K2 platform, which underpins the Sonet and Seltos. Dimensions wise we expect it to be similar to the Ertiga. Engine and transmission will be identical to the Sonet. Kia might retune the engine to produce more power. The availability of diesel will be a big plus point for the Sonet 7-seater over the Ertiga.
Launch & pricing
There is no official confirmation from Kia regarding its launch. But as the test mules were spotted recently, it is expected to be unveiled in the first quarter of 2022. The pricing of this Kia Sonet 7-seater is expected to start from Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
