MG Astor pricing to shake segment?

MG is trying to expand even more into the Indian SUV market. It has enjoyed good momentum till now and will look to continue this momentum. MG launched the Astor today, a C-segment SUV and will compete in this very competitive segment. Today, MG has finally revealed the pricing of the Astor. In today’s article, we will see the pricing of the Astor.

MG Astor price and variants

The pricing of the Astor starts from Rs 9.78 lakh and goes to Rs 16.78 lakh for the top variant. It comes with four variant options- Style, Super, Smart and Sharp. It gets five colour options- Glaze Red, Starry Black, Spiced Orange, Candy White and Aurora  Silver. The bookings for the Astor will start from 21st October. You can also pre-reserve from today. MG has assured delivers in November and December.

Design

The Astor is based on the ZS EV and shares a lot of similarities with it. It also gets subtle changes to differentiate both the cars. At the front, it gets a new grille with a big MG logo in the middle.  It also gets slimmer LED headlamps and chunkier bumpers. The rear gets new LED taillamps and new bumpers. The Astor gets spacious and premium interiors. It gets 3 interior color options – red, white and black.

Specifications

The Astor is 4323mm in length, 1809mm in width and 1650mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2585mm and a ground clearance of 190mm. On the engine front, the Astor comes with two engine options. The first is a 1.5-litre engine capable of producing 108bhp & 144Nm of torque. The second engine is 1.3-litre turbo petrol capable of producing 138bhp and 220Nm of torque. Both engines come with an automatic gearbox. But the manual is offered only on the 1.5-litre engine.

Features 

The Astor comes loaded with a lot of features. It comes with segment-first features like an Advanced Driver Assistance System (level 1) and a physical personal assistant. It gets other features like a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, a fully digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch infotainment system. Safety features include multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control and more.
