Maruti, a brand that needs no introduction. Alto is a car from Maruti that is known for being one of the best-selling cars from the brand. The car sells more units consistently than most of the brands’ combined sales figures. In this article, we will be discussing the new generation Maruti Alto and our expectations from the new car.
New Design
The new generation of Alto is expected to get some cosmetic changes that would give this car a refreshing look. The dimensions will continue to be the same. But some changes here and there are what we expect. Maruti will try to keep its cost under control while bringing in the new generation of the Alto. So the design, features, and accessories that will be going on the Alto will be cost-effective and well calculated by Maruti.
New LED Lights
The new generation Maruti Alto is expected to have a newly designed LED light and daytime running LED. This is now a trending feature and entry-level hatchbacks from other brands are also getting it as a standard feature. The new generation Alto will also get a design update as the current design seems a bit outdated. The headlights set up could be similar to current generation cars where the DRL sits above the main headlamps.
Safety
Maruti will try to improve the safety features offered in Alto. Maruti will offer dual airbags and seat belts with pre-tensioners as standard features across variants. We also expect the Alto to get reverse parking sensors and camera as a standard feature. The car will also get ABS with EBD will be offered as a standard safety feature. We hope ESP, electric start stop and more features will be standard.
New Features
The new generation Alto is expected to offer a decent touch screen infotainment system in its top-end variant. This could be the same infotainment system that we currently see in the WagonR that comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Another feature that could add comfort and make driving easy in city traffic is an AMT gearbox. It would be great to see Maruti offer an IMT clutchless gearbox the way Hyundai offers in their cars.
