All new Maruti Baleno – BIG update
Maruti Suzuki Baleno is one of the best-selling cars from Maruti. The premium hatchback is consistently doing good sales numbers month on month and the car is always there in the top ten selling cars. The car was launched back in 2015 and since then it has got one facelift in 2019. This is one car that is due for a new generation. In this article, we will discuss our expectations from the new generation Baleno.
Design and Features
The new generation Maruti Baleno is expected to get all new exteriors, a newly designed front grille, a new set of headlamps, dual arrow-shaped DRLs. The car is expected to get some new colors as well. On the Interiors the car will get a newly designed dashboard with a fully digital instrument cluster, a new touch screen infotainment system, improved MID. The car is also expected to get newly designed alloy wheels that will give Baleno a fresh look. Four airbags, rear AC vents, fast charging ports, and wireless charging are also expected to get added to the list of features to keep up with the competition.
Specifications
Currently, the engine of the Baleno is a 1.2-litre K12M VVT petrol engine that produces 83bhp and 113Nm torque and a 1.2-litre K12N DualJet engine that produces 90bhp and 115Nm torque. The engine in the new generation Baleno will be fine-tuned to deliver an additional 5bhp to 8bhp increase with the same torque. The car will continue to get a five-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission. The new generation Baleno should also get the engine auto start-stop and a new hybrid technology similar to that we see on Ciaz currently. We could also expect the Booster Jet engine that was available on the Baleno RS to be included in the new generation Baleno.
Dimensions
At present, the Baleno stands 3995mm in length, 1745mm in width, and 1510mm in height and gets a wheelbase of 2520mm and ground clearance of 170mm. The new generation Baleno could come with similar dimensions. The newly designed alloy wheels could enhance its look and make the car look bigger.
Pricing
The price of Baleno starts from Rs 6.96 lakh to Rs10.88 lakh on-road Mumbai. The new generation Baleno is expected to come with an increase of Rs 50,000 to 75,000 over the existing pricing. The new generation Baleno will continue to compete with Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz, and Volkswagen Polo.
