Tata recently unveiled the Punch. Tata is calling it a sub-compact SUV. This car provides an SUV like feel in a more compact car and affordable package. Tata’s SUV lineup has revived it in the Indian market. So Punch will be looking to continue this momentum. Though Punch will have to compete with strong products like the Maruti Ignis and even the Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite. The Ignis, like other Maruti cars, is known for its reliable engines and fuss-free ownership experience. It sells in decent numbers for Maruti. In today’s article, we will see three reasons to consider Tata Punch over Ignis.

Safety

Tata has bought safety into the spotlight in the Indian market. Tata hasn’t revealed the crash test rating of the Punch, but it is based on the ALFA architecture. The ALFA architecture is a capable platform as it used on the Altroz, which scored 5-stars in GNCAP. So we expect Punch to also come with a 5-star rating from GNCAP. Other safety features it includes are brake sway control, ABS with EBD and dual airbags.

The Ignis is 3700mm in length, 1690mm in width and 1595mm in height. Tata has not yet revealed the dimensions of the Punch, But from the pictures and expected dimensions, it will be bigger than the Ignis. The Punch will be around 3800-3900mm in length. This extra length will mean more space in the interiors. It will also offer a better wheelbase than the Ignis.
