AMT with Altitude Adjusted Tuning Maps
The car gets a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine that produces 85bhp and 113Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual and a five-speed AMT transmission. The engine is equipped with Dynapro technology that delivers ram air to the engine without much pressure drop, this helps efficient fuel combustion, superior power delivery, and great low-end torque. The AMT transmission comes with altitude-adjusted tuning maps that come in handy while driving through high altitude terrains the performance of the car remains uncompromised.
Traction Pro mode
The Traction Pro mode in the Punch AMT variant is an industry-first feature to be introduced by Tata Motors. This feature comes to your rescue while driving on surfaces with low tractions such as mud, and rural roads where one of the tyre of the car gets stuck. This could be considered as an advanced version of the usual traction control that you commonly see in a car nowadays.
Dimensions
The Punch gets a higher ground clearance of 187mm as compared to other cars which normally get a ground clearance of 160mm to 165mm. The car gets a 370mm water wading capability as compared to 300mm in other cars. The car gets a higher approach angle of 20.3 degree, departure angle of 37.6 degrees, and ramp over angle of 22.2 degrees. This makes the Punch a good car that can take on some bad roads in its stride.
ABS and EBD with Brake Sway Control
The Punch comes with a segment-first feature called the brake Sway control. This is over and above the ABS and EBD that comes standard across all variants. This feature detects the instability of the car during sudden hard braking and gets activated before the ABS to avoid the vehicle swaying from the driving path. This adds to the safety level of the Punch as well.
90-Degree Door Opening
Just like Tata Altroz the Punch also gets a 90-degree opening door. This makes ingress and egress to the car easy. This feature will be loved by buyers who have elderly people in their families as it makes their car journey easy and comfortable.
