Four reasons to wait for MG ASTOR
Morris Garage known as MG is becoming popular among buyers. They started with Hector, then they launched Gloster, followed by the ZS EV. Now, they have revealed the MG Astor. The car comes loaded with features. In this article, we discuss four reasons for you to wait for MG Astor.
MG Astor Design
The MG Astor is the petrol version of the MG ZS EV. The front grille is a bit different as the charging socket that’s present on the MG ZS EV is replaced by a newly designed radial grille which they call a celestial grille. The bumper and headlamps get a new design as well. The Astor also gets newly designed 17-inch Alloy wheels. The rear also gets newly designed LED taillights, bumpers with skid plate, and a fake exhaust design on the rear bumper. As the battery pack is missing and this adds to more space in the second row of the Astor. MG will also offer color options for interiors as Red, Black, and White to choose from. The Astor gets a panoramic sunroof. The car comes with the following dimensions – 4323mm in length, 1809mm in width, and 1650mm in height.
MG Astor Features
The Astor gets many first in segment features like the Personal AI Assistant, ADAS level 2. The Astor also gets a 10-inch touch screen infotainment system, wireless charging, ventilated seats, and a fully digital instrument cluster. The car comes with safety features like multiple airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, and ABS with EBD.
Engine
The MG Astor will be made available in two engine options. A 1498cc naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 110bhp and 144Nm of torque mated to a five-speed manual transmission. You also get an option of an eight-step CVT in this engine. The second engine option is 1349cc turbo petrol that produces 140bhp and 220Nm of torque mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Price
MG has not yet disclosed the price of the Astor. But we expect the Astor to be priced around Rs 9 to 12 Lakh (ex-showroom). MG will try to place this at a very competitive price point where it will compete with Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. MG Astor with all the features, design, performance and the price at which it could be launched – makes it a car to wait for.
