Indian customers have evolved over the period of time. They now look for more features, the latest technology, safety, and value for money when they buy a car. In this article, we discuss five cars that you should avoid while buying them in India.

Elantra

Hyundai Elantra

A car that once used to compete with the Honda Civic, is now on our list of cars people avoid buying in India. The car has done double-digit sales with 20 units sold in August 2021, 15 units in July 2021, and 29 units in June 2021. The car despite its good looks seems overpriced and even after discounts people are attracted towards other cars either from the same brand (Creta) or other brands that offer more features or premium look. With SUVs currently trending the premium, sedans are now overshadowed and neglected. The price range starts from Rs 21.18Lakh to Rs 25.66Lakh on-road Mumbai.

Renault Duster

Renault Duster

A car that’s been dragged for too long and now started to lose out on its charm. Renault Duster was a good car back in the time when it was launched. But lack of major updates, missing modern features, and unavailability of all-wheel-drive options brings this car on our list of cars to avoid. Renault managed to sell 153 units of Duster in August 2021, 128 units in July 2021, and 114 units in June 2021. Cars from reliable brands like Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Tata Nexon, and Hyundai  Venue seem to be a better alternative than buying a Renault Duster. The price range starts from Rs 11.49Lakh to Rs 16.86Lakh on-road Mumbai.

Redi Go

Datsun Redi GO

Another car from the Nissan family that’s shown a decline in sales is the Datsun Redi Go. Mostly this car is used as a cab in some cities in India. After Tata Nano was discontinued this car was an alternative for people who were looking for a small car to drive around the city. But Lack of safety features, firm seats, and overall look and feel of the car bring this car on our list of cars to be avoided in India. People could easily prefer buying a Renault Kwid, Maruti Suzuki Wagan R, or Alto in the same price range. Datsun sold 32 units of Redi Go in August 2021, 37 units in July 2021, and 149 units in June 2021. The price range starts from Rs 4.72Lakh to Rs 5.85Lakh on-road Mumbai.

KUV100

Mahindra KUV100

To end our list of cars to avoid buying in India we have a car that has been doing single-digit sales. The cars sold 2 units in August 2021, 7 units in July 2021, and 1 unit in June 2021. It is shocking to see a car from Mahindra on this list. But it’s the Mahindra KUV100 that’s one car you should definitely avoid buying. The car has a unique design that is neither a hatchback nor an SUV and not even a micro SUV. Cars like Renault Kwid, Nissan Magnite, Tata Tiago, Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, and Hyundai  Grand i10 Nios seem to be a more rational choice over the Mahindra KUV100. The price range starts from Rs 7.21Lakh to Rs 9.20Lakh on-road Mumbai.
