A BYD E6 was spotted testing in Surat. In today’s article, we will look at this Chinese car spotted in India. 

What is BYD?

The full form of BYD is “build your dreams”. It is based in Shaanxi province and is the subsidiary of the parent BYD manufacturing company. It is one of the leading EV car manufacturers in the world. It is known for its EV battery making capabilities. There are rumours that they might be supplying Tesla with batteries. Volkswagen China has a partnership with BYD in China. It has a presence in markets like the USA, UK and Canada. Currently, BYD is expanding in Europe, with Norway being the first country.

Which car they are testing

The car spotted in Surat is the BYD E6. The E6 is an all-electric compact crossover. It is one of the best selling EV cars in China. Currently, the E6 is in its second generation. Coming to the spotted Chinese car in India it gets LED headlamps with the connecting grille. Below it, it gets a dotted bumper. It also gets blacked outskirts and side vents. In the side profile, it gets a big look with an extended look. At the rear, it gets a tail lamp structure with connected elements. In the interior, it gets a clean dashboard design with a floating infotainment system. Other elements include rectangular AC vents, a circular gear knob and a multifunction steering wheel. 

Engine specifications

Globally the E6 comes with a 41kWh blade battery pack paired with an electric motor. This engine puts out a power output of 136bhp. It comes with a range of around 400-450km. The battery can go from 0-90 percent charge in 90 minutes.
