MG Astor will grab Hyundai Creta sales?
Creta has been the best selling SUV in the Indian market for quite some time now. It is known for its innovative design and segment-first features. A lot of competition cars have tried to dethrone Creta’s domination but have failed. Now MG has launched the Astor to take on the Creta. MG has loaded the Astor to compete with the Creta. In today’s article, we will be comparing the MG Astor Vs the Hyundai Creta.
Design
The Creta has a futuristic design. It gets a traditional Hyundai grille loaded with chrome. It gets a unique C-shaped DRL system with LED headlights in them. The side profile gets curvy lines. At the rear, it gets LED headlights with a layout similar to the front. On the inside, the Creta comes with a neat interior design layout.
The Astor is based on the ZS EV, so looks very similar to it. At the front, it gets a new grille with a big MG logo in the middle. It gets slimmer LED headlamps and chunkier bumpers. The side profile is big, but its crossover look gives it a low stance. The Astor comes with coloured interiors that look quite neat and well placed.
Specifications
The Creta is 4300mm in length, 1790mm in width & 1635mm in height. It sits on a 2610mm wheelbase and has a ground clearance of 190mm. The Creta comes with three engine options; a 1.5-litre petrol engine capable of producing 113bhp & 143Nm of torque, 1.4-litre turbo petrol capable of producing 138bhp & 242Nm of torque. The 3rd engine is a 1.5-litre diesel engine capable of producing 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. All the engines come with manual and automatic gearbox options.
The Astor is 4323mm in length, 1809mm in width & 1650mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2585mm. The Astor only comes with two petrol engines. A 1.5-litre petrol engine capable of producing 108bhp and 144Nm of torque. The second engine is 1.4-litre turbo petrol capable of producing 138bhp and 220Nm of torque. It gets manual and automatic gearbox options.
MG Astor vs Creta Features
The Creta comes loaded with features. It gets a panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch infotainment system, front ventilated seats, driving modes, connected car tech and wireless charging are some of the prominent ones.
MG to counter the Creta has loaded Astor with features. It gets segment-first features like Advanced Driver Assitance System (ADAS) Level2 and personal assistant. Other features include a 10.1-inch infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, wireless charging and a panoramic sunroof.
MG Astor vs Creta Pricing
The pricing of the Creta starts from Rs 12.06 lakhs and goes to Rs 21.33 lakhs(on-road, Mumbai). MG has not yet announced the price of the Astor. But it is expected to start from Rs 9-10 lakh(ex-showroom).
