Mahindra Rs 9 lakh SUV- new age all-rounder?
The Bolero has been one of the most iconic SUVs in the Indian market. For a considerable time, it was one of the biggest selling SUVs in India. It is known for its rugged nature and reliability. It is especially popular in rural areas due to its capability of running on poor terrains. Considering Mahindra push for updating its lineup, the Bolero is expected to get a new generation. In today’s article, we will be looking at this Mahindra Rs 9 lakh SUV.
Exterior Design
Mahindra will most likely retain the Boleros current rugged profile. It might get a new front grille inspired by the XUV700. It will also get Mahindra’s new twin peak logo. Other changes will be LED headlamps, LED DRLs, new bumpers & skid plates and ORVMs with turn indicators. Pratap Bose, who recently joined Mahindra as a chief designer office, will design the new-generation Bolero. He previously designed the Tata cars like the Tigor, Tiago, Nexon, Harrier and the new Safari.

The new-gen Bolero will come with a modern and practical cabin with modern features. It will likely get a touchscreen infotainment system, rear AC vents, adjustable steering wheel and power windows.
Mahindra Rs 9 lakh SUV Specifications
The Bolero will switch to the new ladder on the frame chassis used on the Thar. The new-generation Bolero is rumoured to get a 2.2-litre diesel engine that powers the Thar and XUV700. This engine is capable of producing 130bhp and 320Nm of torque. The more possible option will be the 1.5-litre diesel that powers the XUV300. Most likely, it will only get a Diesel engine. It will also get manual and automatic gearbox options. It is also rumoured to get new mild-hybrid technology.
Price and launch timeline
Currently, the Bolero starts from Rs 8.41 lakhs, so the new generation should start from Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). Mahindra has confirmed the next-gen Bolero will be launched between 2023 and 2026. Most likely it will be launched in 2024.
