The Thar is 3985mm in length, 1855mm in width and 1844mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2450mm in wheelbase and has a ground clearance of 226mm. The Thar comes in hardtop and soft top options. The Gurkha, on the other hand, is 4116mm in length, 1812mm in width and 2075mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2400mm and has a ground clearance of 205mm.

The Thar comes with petrol and diesel engine options. Its petrol engine is a 2.0-litre engine capable of producing 150bhp and 300Nm of torque. The diesel engine is a 2.2-litre engine capable of producing 130bhp and 300Nm of torque. Both the engines come with manual and automatic gearbox options. The Gurkha comes with only a diesel engine. It comes with a 2.6-litre diesel engine. this engine produces 91 bhp and 250Nm of torque. It only gets a manual gearbox option.

The Thar comes loaded with features. It comes with a 4-wheel drive, front fog lamps, multi-function steering wheel, TPMS, connected car tech, auto AC, brake locking differential, 7-inch infotainment system and 18-inch alloy wheels. Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, hill-hold control and ESP with roll-over mitigation.
The Gurkha is also decently loaded with features. It gets a 7-inch infotainment system, LED headlamps, TPMS, rear parking sensors, 4-wheel drive, power windows and follow-me headlamps. Safety features will include dual front airbags, ABS, EBD and rear parking sensors.

Pricing

The pricing of the Mahindra Thar starts from Rs 15.42 lakhs and goes to Rs 18.42 lakhs(on-road, Mumbai). Force has not yet revealed the pricing of the Gurkha, but it is expected to start from Rs 13.00 lakh (ex-showroom).
