Citroen is one of the most recent manufacturers to enter the Indian market. It launched the Citroen C5 Aircorss this year. Though it is a great car, Citroen is charging a lot of premium for it. To cater to more people, it needs a more affordable car. Citroen knows this and has been working on the Citroen C3. Today Citroen revealed the Citroen C3. Citroen C3 revealed design
The Citroen C3 follows Citroen’s quirky design language. The front of the car gets a split headlamp setup integrating into the grille with the Citroen logo in the middle. Other exterior features include an upright design, flat bonnet and a highly-raked windshield. The rear gets rectangular taillamps and dual-tone bumpers. Other subtle bits include orange accents on bumpers, side-cladding and blacked-out pillars. The interiors continue the quirky design from the exterior. It has some resemblance to the C5 Aircross with steering wheel and orange highlights.
Citroen C3 revealed specifications
The Citroen C3 is based on the CMP modular platform. This platform has been specifically designed for India. The Citroen is 3.98m in length, 10m turning circle and 315-litre bootspace. Citroen didn’t reveal the engine specs, but we expect it to be powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. It will come mated to a 5-speed manual and an automatic gearbox. Citroen will not offer a diesel engine on the C3.
Features
On the features front, Citroen is expected to load the car with features that will help it take on the already established rivals. It comes with features like a fully digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, a 10.1-inch infotainment system and wireless charging are some of the key ones.
Pricing and expected launch
Citroen has done a lot of localization on the C3 and we expect them to price the C3 competitively. It will rival products like the Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and other SUVs in this price range. With the unveiling, done Citroen will start production at the end of this year and launch the car early next year.
