MG Astor AI features explained – UNIQUE
MG Motors has been really aggressive in the Indian market. Their first product, the Hector, revolutionized the mid-size SUV segment. It also helped establish the MG brand in India. After the success of Hector, the brand also launched the Gloster and the ZS EV. Now the brand is gearing up to launch another car in the Indian market, the MG Astor. MG has already unveiled some of its features. It is getting a whole load of segment-first features. But the biggest attraction will be the personal assistant. In today’s article, we will be looking at Astor unique AI features.
AI assistant
Astor will be the first car in India to get a dedicated AI assistant in the car. It is placed on the dashboard and is similar to Amazon’s Alexa and Google Assistant. From what MG has revealed, the AI assistant is capable of taking commands, searching Wikipedia to answer your questions. It can also crack jokes and wish you on your birthdays or festivals. It will also help with critical car warnings. The AI has been developed to understand Hinglish commands.
Other features
The Astor is going to be equipped with ADAS (level 2). Level 2 ADAS is a big segment-first feature. Other expected features will include a 10-inch infotainment system, wireless charging, a fully digital instrument cluster and ventilated seats. Safety features will include multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist and a few others.
Design
The MG Astor will be based on the ZS EV, however, MG will give it some subtle changes to differentiate it from the EV. It will get redesigned front with the traditional MG grille. Other exterior features will be slimmer full-LED headlamps and chunkier bumpers. The rear will also get new bumpers and LED tail lamps. It will also get a new alloy wheel design.
Launch and pricing
MG will reveal the car on 15th September. It is expected to start somewhere around Rs 10 lakhs (on-road). This pricing will help it undercut competition like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Skoda Kushaq.
