Both the cars look distinctly different. The Maruti Alto gets a big honeycomb mesh design on its bumper. Whereas the Suzuki Alto gets air vents on one side in its bumper. Suzuki Alto has another model – Alto Works which has fog lamps. The side profile of the Maruti Alto is a bit angular and looks better when compared to the angular and boxy design of the Suzuki Alto. The rear ends of these cars are different. The brake lights and turn indicators on the Maruti Alto are placed a bit high on the rear end. While the brake lights and turn indicators are placed low on the bumper of the Suzuki Alto.

The gear lever of the Maruti Alto is floor mounted while the Suzuki Alto gets a five-speed automatic transmission and the lever is mounted in the dashboard below the music system and next to AC controls.

The Maruti Alto is offered in Petrol and CNG. While the Suzuki Alto is equipped with a mild-hybrid engine which comes equipped with features like ene-Charge, Idling Stop, and Eco-Cool. The Maruti Alto gets a 796 cc Petrol engine which produces 47bhp and 69Nm of torque. The Suzuki Alto comes with a 658cc engine mated with a 5-speed manual and you also get an option of AMT and CVT gearbox 63bhp and 95 Nm of torque.

Features

Safety features in the Maruti Alto are just basic with dual airbags, ABS+ EBD, reverse parking sensors, front row seat belt reminder, rear door child lock. While the Suzuki Alto comes loaded with safety features: Lane deviation warning, Stagger warning, preceding vehicle start notification, high beam assist, dual sensor brake support, brake support when reversing.

The Maruti Alto is one of the most affordable cars you can buy in India at Rs.3.56 Lakh (on-road) while the Suzuki Alto costs around (Yen 1,193,500 converted to Indian Rupees) Rs 7.94 Lakh.
