A lot of seven-seater cars have been launched in the Indian market in the last few months. But none of these cars has the potential to take on full-sized SUVs like the Fortuner. But this is soon going to change with cars like the Jeep Meridian and the rumoured 7-seater Hyundai Tucson. On this 7-seater Tucson, Hyundai will follow the same strategy as the Creta and the Alcazar. In today’s article, we will be looking at this Hyundai Tucson 7-seater.
Hyundai Tucson 7-seater design
This Tucson 7-seater will be based on the new generation of the Tucson. At the front, it will get the jewel-shaped grille with DRLs seamlessly integrating into the grille. The side profile will get extended to accommodate the third row making the car look a lot bulky. At the rear, it will get LED taillamps with a design resembling the New-generation Creta. Other exterior features will include a new alloy wheel design, horizontal chrome strips and an extended wheelbase.
We expect that it to share its engine with the Tucson 5-seater. The Hyundai Tucson in India comes with petrol and diesel engine options. The Petrol engine is a 2.0-litre unit capable of producing 150bhp and 192Nm of torque. The diesel engine is a 2.0-litre unit capable of producing 182bhp and 400Nm of torque. Both the engines come only with a torque converter gearbox. Hyundai might retune the engine a bit to produce more power. The diesel engine comes with a 4WD option also.
Hyundai Tucson 7-seater features
This 7-seater Tucson will come loaded with features. It will get AC vents in all rows, wireless charging 2nd row, a panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster and much more. It will also offer a lot of driver aids and safety features like cruise control, hill assists, traction control, paddle shifters, multiple airbags, parking sensors, ISOFIX markings and more.
Pricing and launch
There has been no official confirmation from Hyundai regarding this 7-seater Tucson. But with the recent launch of Alcazar, we expect Hyundai to be working on this 7-seater Tucson. If launched the Hyundai will ask for a premium of at least 1 to 1.5 lakh over the 5-seater variant.
