Jeep Meridian spotted in Ladakh!
The seven-seater market has been very active in the past few months. Another manufacturer expected to enter this segment is Jeep. Recently, Jeep unveiled the 7-seater version of the Compass as Jeep Commander in South America and China. It is expected to make its way to India by next year as Meridian, as Mahindra owns the Commander trademark in India. This Jeep meridian was recently spotted in Ladakh. In today’s article, we will be looking at the Jeep Meridian.
What was spotted?
A pair of heavily camouflaged Jeep vehicles were seen parked in Ladakh with other a couple of Jeep Compass’. This camouflaged vehicle is the Meridian due to its bulky size. Jeep was most probably doing a high altitude test on the Meridian. Manufacturers generally do such extensive tests before releasing their vehicles in countries like India with such different conditions. Due to the heavy camouflage, we can’t figure out much else, but we don’t expect the Jeep to change it much from the international variant.
What we already know so far
The Meridian is based on the Jeep Compass but gets its own identity and road presence. The front gets the traditional Jeep grille with an angular LED headlight. The side profile looks quite big due to the third row. The rear gets er LED tail-lights like seen on the Grand Wagoneer. In the interiors, it gets a layout similar to the facelifted Jeep Compass. The Meridian will most likely be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine. It will come with a mild-hybrid tech, which will be the first for any diesel-powered Jeep SUVs. The Meridian is expected to get features like advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), 10.25-inch digital instruments display, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, electronic parking brake, Alpine audio system, a powered tailgate, 360-degree cameras and more.
