Tata products have set a benchmark in the Indian market. All the products from them are leading in their respective segments. The Tata Altroz is one such product that is giving tough competition to cars like Hyundai i20 and Maruti Baleno. The Altroz has a 5-star rating from GNCAP, making it the safest car in this segment. Though the Altroz is such a great overall package, still there is room for improvement. These improvements can help Tata completely dominate this segment.  In today’s article, we will be looking at the Tata Altroz facelift improvements.

8 upcoming Tata cars in India – Know them all!

Automatic options

Tata Altroz facelift

Automatic gearboxes have become very popular in the last few years. Currently, Tata has no automatic gearbox option on the Altroz. This is a big miss considering the competition offers multiple gearbox options. Tata was expected to bring a DCT gearbox with the launch of the turbo engine, but that didn’t happen. Considering Tata is working on proper automatic gearboxes for Nexon, we expect the Altroz to also get the same. Tata should also try to bring in a diesel automatic to attract more customers.

Sunroof

Altroz i-Turbo missing Sunroof

Sunroof has become an important selling point in recent times. The sunroof helps in making the interior airier and reduces the claustrophobic effect of dark interiors. Currently, the Hyundai i20 is the only car to have a sunroof in this segment. If Tata manages to offer the sunroof, it can attract a lot of potential customers from the i20.

Bigger touchscreen infotainment

Big infotainment systems have become an integral part of improving the cabin experience. The Altroz gets a 7-inch infotainment system. But competition cars like the Hyundai i20 offer a 10-inch infotainment system. Also, the user interface on the Altroz is a bit laggy. Tata should look to improve the user interface.

Wireless charging

LED headlamps

LED headlamps enhance the overall look of the cars. LED headlamps also offer better visibility and are more efficient. The Altroz gets LED DRLS but is equipped with projector headlamps. Tata should bring LED headlamps as this only enhances the bold and modern design of the car.

  • The REAL improvement would be to make a premium version of the hatchback matching the Tata 45X Concept. Forget the sub-4m-length, 1.2 litre engine rule! I was thoroughly disappointed seeing the production version Altroz, so wonderful the 45X concept was!
