Tata Harrier facelift – things we want it to come with

The Harrier has been one of the game-changing products for Tata in the Indian car market. It is known for its bold and aggressive design, class-leading safety, strong build quality, powerful engine and massive road presence. However, the Tata Harrier has been facing stiff competition from products like MG Hector for some time now. With the growth of the affordable seven-seater SUV market, a product like the Hyundai Alcazar can also be counted as one of the competitions. Apart from these existing ones, the upcoming Mahindra XUV700 is set to be a tough rival for the Harrier. We expect Tata to gain some ground by bringing a facelift for the Harrier. In today’s article, we will be looking at the expected Tata Harrier facelift and the things that we want it to come with.

Should Tata Harrier buyers wait for Mahindra XUV700?

Petrol Engine

Although the Harrier does come with a wide variant spread, it is only offered with a diesel engine currently. Diesel engines have always been the top choice for SUV buyers, however, with the changing trends, multiple buyers now prefer petrol engines. Moreover, multiple competition cars are offered with both engine options. With that being said, Tata is expected to be working on a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. We expect Tata to launch a petrol engine in the near future or with the facelift. Both manual and automatic transmission options will be made available with the car.

New features

Features are an important selling point in this segment. The Harrier already comes loaded with a decent amount of features, but we expect Tata to add more features considering Mahindra will soon be launching the XUV700. Features like a 360-degree camera (a must-have feature on such big cars) and Heads-Up-Display (HUD), a nifty feature that is quite helpful while driving is expected. The electronic parking brake is a feature that we expect the Harrier to borrow from Safari.
