Hyundai is known for its bold approach in India. After few weeks of teasers and months of leaks, Hyundai has officially unveiled the Hyundai i20 N Line in India today. The N Line series of Hyundai is inspired by the performance-focused N line-up. These N Line cars are majorly offered with cosmetic changes only, but it is a step in the right direction for Hyundai to slowly introduce its complete N Line line-up in India. Exterior design

Hyundai i20 N Line revealed

The i20 N Line gets some cosmetic changes in the exterior when compared to the regular i20. The i20 N Line gets a chequered flag-inspired front grille and a sharper dual-tone front bumper. It also gets red highlights on the side skirts. New 16-inch alloy wheels with red brake callipers will help it differentiate from the regular i20. Also, N Line badging, a twin-tip exhaust, a sporty spoiler with winglets and a slightly tweaked rear bumper with a sporty diffuser will be some of the other unique elements of this hatchback. The i20 N Line will be offered in six colour options (Thunder Blue, Thunder Blue with black roof, Fiery Red, Fiery Red with black roof, Titan Grey and Polar White). 

Interiors

The interiors have been redesigned with a lot of red highlights. Red highlights have been extended to the leather seats that come with a chequered flag design and N Line badging. Other changes include a new ‘N’ inspired three-spoke steering wheel and gear knob. It also gets red ambient lighting and metal pedals to enhance the premium appeal. 

Specifications

The i20 N Line is powered by the same 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine currently available with the regular i20. The engine is capable of producing 118bhp and 172Nm of torque. Hyundai is claiming that it can do 0-100km/h in 9.9 seconds. Transmission options include six-speed iMT and seven-speed DCT gearboxes. Hyundai has also calibrated the steering geometry and made the suspension stiffer for better performance.

Hyundai i20 N Line

The i20 N Line is based on the top-spec models of the regular i20. It comes with features like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging, a fully digital instrument cluster, a sunroof, air purifier, connected car technology (updated to offer over-the-air map updates), TPMS and a Bose sound system. It also gets new voice-enabled controls over the regular car. In terms of safety, the car will offer all four disc brakes, ESC, VSM and Hill Assist Control.

Pricing and launch

Hyundai, along with the unveiling has commenced the bookings for this car, with the booking amount set at Rs 25,000. The car will be sold via Hyundai’s Signature dealership. Hyundai has not officially revealed the price yet, but we expect it to be somewhere around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). The car will launch next month.
