Skoda Kodiaq RS

The Kodiaq facelift was globally unveiled in April this year. The updated Kodiaq gets subtle changes at the front. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine capable of producing 187bhp and 320Nm of torque. The transmission will be handled by a seven-speed DSG gearbox.  It will also get a 4×4 drive option. It will include features like a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, adaptive LED headlamps, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 360-degree camera. Skoda is expected to launch the Kodiaq in October.

The Terra is a rugged SUV manufactured by Nissan. It is powered by a 2.5-litre diesel engine with a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic gearbox. The Terra comes with two-wheel and four-wheel-drive options. It comes with features like an eight-inch touchscreen display, intelligent around-view monitor w/ moving object detection, intelligent rearview mirror, blind-spot warning and lane departure warning.

The Palisade is Hyundai’s most premium offering. Considering Hyundais push in the Indian market, we may see it in India. It is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine that is capable of producing 161bhp and 375Nm of torque. This unit comes mated to an eight-speed torque converter gearbox and powers the rear wheels. It comes with features like 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, safe exit assist, a 10-inch infotainment system with wireless connectivity and ventilated seats and much more.

Mahindra XUV700

Mahindra recently unveiled the XUV700 and it has disrupted a lot of segments with this one car. The XUV700 can also compete in this segment due to its powerful engines and features. It gets 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The XUV700 gets features like an ADAS system, AdrenoX, driving modes, voice assists, air purifier, wireless charging, a 360-degree parking camera, a Panoramic Sunroof and an all-wheel-drive option.

Upcoming Toyota Fortuner competition Kia Telluride

Kia will be looking to follow Hyundai in this segment. The Kia Telluride sold abroad can be a perfect rival to the Fortuner. The Telluride can be powered by the same 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine as the Palisade. It will come with features like ventilated seats, automatic high beams, dual sunroofs, heads-up display and rain-sensing wipers. It also gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a Harman/Kardon audio system.
