The Duster was one of the first cars to be launched in the C-SUV segment. The car has been on sale in India for nearly a decade now. Renault has not brought a generation update for the Duster in India even though the brand has made it available in foreign markets. This has evidently affected its sales as it lacks a lot of features over the competition. However, we now expect Renault to bring the new-generation Duster to India. In today’s article, we will be looking at the new-generation Renault Duster and the things that we know about it.

Renault 5 EV – Could it come to India?

New exterior design

New-generation Renault Duster

The second-generation Duster in the foreign market gets new Y-shaped LED DRLs, updated tail lamps and LED turn indicators. The front end of the car looks modern with a lot of futuristic elements. The side profile has been kept the same as the previous generation. The rear of the car is also quite similar but comes with a newly designed tail lamp arrangement.  The car now gets new 16-inch & 17-inch alloy rims and a new spoiler. We expect all these elements to be on offer with the second-generation car that will be launched here.

On the inside, the car is expected to get completely new upholstery and headrests. Moreover, the centre console will be raised to make the in-cabin experience more comfortable. Elements like a wide armrest and an 8-inch infotainment system will be made available.

Specifications

The new-generation Duster gets a variety of engine and transmission options abroad. For the Indian market, Renault is likely to retain petrol engines only. However, we wish the brand brings back diesel engines for this capable product. Moreover, Renault could really use a 4WD at a time when the segment is being flooded with new cars, especially with overkill products like the newly-unveiled Mahindra XUV700.

New-generation Renault Duster features

Features have become an important USP in cars. The new-generation Duster is expected to come with features like automatic climate control, cruise control, a semi-digital instrument cluster and a multifunction steering wheel, a six-speaker setup, onboard navigation and voice command. Moreover, Renault could offer features like wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, wireless charging and a 360-degree parking camera since it already offers these features with the Kiger.

7-seater Renault Duster

New-generation Renault Duster

A 7-seater variant of the Renault Duster has been spotted testing in the foreign markets. Looking at the growing craze of 7-seaters in the country, Renault is mostly expected to bring its version of the 7-seater Duster to India as well. This will help Renault widen its portfolio in the country.
