Upcoming cars from Stellantis
India as a car market is seeing rapid growth. Seeing this potential, a lot of new car companies have entered the Indian market. One such company is Citroen. The parent company of the Citroen brand is the PSA group. Earlier this year, the PSA group and the Fiat Chrysler group merged to form the Stellantis group. The Stellantis group has the Jeep and Citroen brands in India. In today’s article, we will be looking at all the upcoming cars from Stellantis group.
Upcoming car from Stellantis Citroen C3
Citroen launched the C5 Aircross last year. Although it is a mid-size SUV, it is on the expensive side. To cater to a larger audience, Citroen will be looking to bring in a sub-four-metre SUV. The C3 is expected to get signature elements that the brand uses for its cars. Coloured accents on the exterior and Citroen’s signature grille are expected. We also expect Citroen C3 to come with premium interiors with comfortable seating & upholstery. The C3 will be based on the brand’s CMP platform. The car could be priced somewhere around Rs 6.5 lakh to 12 lakh (ex-showroom). We expect Citroen to introduce this car by the end of this year.
Citroen Creta competition
Recently, a Peugeot 2008 was spotted testing in India. The Peugeot brand is not coming, as the Stellantis group is focusing on the Citroen brand for India. The Peugeot 2008 is based on the same CMP1 platform, which underpins the upcoming Citroen C3 crossover. It can be the Creta competition car from Citroen with some badge engineering. The Peugeot 2008 comes with a sharp design language and powerful engine. The car is expected to come in in 2022.
Jeep H6
Jeep is looking to enter the lucrative seven-seater market soon. The Jeep is expected to launch a seven-seater variant of the Compass. This vehicle could be probably be named Meridian, but that is not confirmed yet. The car will obviously get 4WD and other segment features. It is expected to start from somewhere around Rs 40 lakh and launched in 2022.
Jeep Compact SUV
Jeep is expected to enter the sub-four-meter car segment in India. The Jeep compact SUV will be based on Citroen’s CMP platform, which will underpin Citroen’s compact SUV as well. Jeep will mostly borrow the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that is also expected to power the C3. The compact SUV is expected to come with 4xe tech to provide 4×4 capabilities on a platform that supports 2WD.
Compass 4xe
The Compass is a very capable SUV, so Jeep might bring the 4xe in the Compass to make it a better package. The 4xe will combine the diesel and electric capabilities. The Compass 4xe is already sold in Europe. The Compass 4xe will help Jeep bypass the strict emission tests coming in India and other countries.
Wrangler 4xe
Another car that is expected to get the 4xe is the Wrangler. Like the Compass, the Wrangler 4xe is sold abroad. It gets diesel and electric capabilities. The Wrangler 4xe is a good hybrid off-rounder option. The Wrangler 4xe will help jeep to diversify its lineup.
