Tata has been a key player in the growth of the EV ecosystem in the country. The brand is one of the early movers when it comes to bringing out passenger electric cars in recent years. Tata Nexon EV has been one of the hottest selling EVs in the country. The combination of affordable pricing coupled with a highly trusted product has been the key to success for the brand. Tata is now looking to repeat history with another product, the Tigor EV. The brand has teased the Tigor EV today. In today’s article, we will look at new Tata EV – Tigor, that has been teased. Let’s go.

What does the teaser reveal?

The Tata Tigor Ziptron teaser clearly reveals that the brand is planning to re-launch this car for passenger buyers. The Tigor EV, currently available for commercial and fleet buyers was once opened for private buyers as well, however, unsatisfactory range figures led to disappointment for them. This car is also called the Xpres-T. This in turn led to the brand discontinuing the product for private buyers. Now, the brand, in the Tigor EV’s latest teaser is clearly boasting the Ziptron technology. This same technology powers the Nexon EV as well. The car in the teaser is wrapped under camouflage however a few details are still easy giveaways. The car, similar to the regular Tigor will come with LED DRLs and projector headlamps. Moreover, the car will come with blue accents on the alloy wheels, similar to what the Nexon EV’s base variant sports.

What can we expect from this New Tata EV?

With the Tigor EV now coming coupled with Ziptron technology, we can expect it to share a lot of elements from the Nexon EV. Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, liquid-cooled 30.2kWh high energy density Lithium-Ion battery pack, IP67 rating, single-speed transmission and CCS 2 charging standard are some of the key elements of the Ziptron technology ecosystem that we can expect with the new Tigor EV. We expect the car to make close to 127bhp and 245Nm of torque with this setup. Although range figures are not clear, however, a minimum range of 250km is bound to be made available with the car (actual figures may vary). Also, we will get to see a semi-digital instrument cluster, similar to the Nexon EV.

A 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, premium sound system, rear AC vents, seating & upholstery with EV-specific accents, LED tail lamps, rear parking camera with sensors, ABS with EBD, dual airbags, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, etc. will be made available. EV specific features like regenerative braking will also be on offer. Also, we expect new color schemes for the car, including Signature Teal Blue. The car will also get the facelifted look from Tata Tigor.
