Mustang Mach-E

The American carmaker electrified the Mustang in 2019. This particular product is the first four-door Mustang along with being the first Mustang SUV. Any way you slice it, the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is an exciting automobile. This flagship EV from Ford certifies a range of 490km which is powered by an 88kWh battery that produces 458bhp and 830Nm of torque. The Mach-E does a 0-97km/h in approximately 3.5 seconds.

Currently available in the European market, the electric-SUV has features like a voice-activated touchscreen navigation system, evasive steering assists, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping system, rearview camera, auto high beams, reverse brake assist, reverse sensing system and more. The Mustang Mach-E has a starting price of $42,895 (INR 31.91 lakh).

Rivian R1S

One of the most well-funded Tesla competitors around, Rivian is trying to challenge Musk’s Tesla for the EV crown. This seven-passenger 2021 Rivian R1S sport-utility vehicle will be the second production vehicle from the Michigan-based automaker. However, both the product and the brand will be the debutants in the SUV segment of the industry.

The Launch Edition will only be made available in the American and European markets, which will offer features like an array of standard driver assists, an all-glass panoramic roof, and Wi-Fi capability for over-the-air updates. The R1S has an electric motor for each wheel producing 789bhp, giving it all-wheel-drive and impressive off-road capability. The R1S will be sold directly to consumers, although Rivian says that it also will set up a network of service centres and Tesla-like stores. The Launch trim will be priced around $75,000 (INR 55.78 lakh).

Kia Niro

The Kia Niro is a sister product to the Hyundai Kona. The car comes powered by a single electric motor that produces 198bhp, which is sent through the front wheels by a one-speed direct-drive transmission. The crossover SUV has a 64.0-kWh battery which offers an EPA-rated range of 384km (239 miles). The comes loaded with features like wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rear-seat reminder, passive hands-free entry add remote start, new navigation features that will include 10 years of complimentary map updates and map-based adaptive cruise control. The Kia Niro has a price bracket of $40,265 (INR 29.95 lakh) for its entry-level, EX trim and $45,825 (INR 34.08 lakh) for the top-of-the-line, EX Premium variant.

Skoda Enyaq iV

The Skoda Enyaq is an all-electric SUV and the first ground-up EV from the Czech carmaker. It goes up against alternatives like the mechanically similar Volkswagen ID.4, Ford Mustang Mach-E and the Nissan Ariya in foreign markets. The Enyaq offers a 13-inch infotainment system as standard, you will also get a DAB music system, Apple Carplay & Android Auto, smartphone mirroring and two USB-C sockets as standard. Enyaq is mainly divided into two variants viz. Enyaq iV 60 and Enyaq iV 80. Enyaq iV 80 is further divided into iV 80 Sportline and iV 80x Sportline.

Mechanically, the Enyaq 60’s battery pack is capable of producing 177bhp and has a respectable range of 412km (256 miles). The Enyaq 80 packs a heavier set of batteries that produces 201bhp and has a full-charge range of 535km (333 miles). The Skoda Enyaq has a price range of $47,948 (INR 35.66 lakh)for its base trim and goes up to $64,767 (INR 48.17 lakh). This is one of the electric SUVs that we want in India.

Hyundai Ioniq 5

The Ioniq is an all-electric SUV from the Korean carmaker. The Ioniq 5 comes equipped with a 72.6kWh battery pack that produces 302bhp and 605Nm of torque in its top configuration. It also gets an AWD drivetrain. With this configuration, the car can manage 0-100km/h in 5.2 seconds. With a 72.6kWh battery pack and RWD drivetrain combination, the car can deliver a 481km range. The Ioniq 5 is waiting for a global launch and the final pricing will be announced once the car is launched.
