Mahindra recently launched the Bolero Neo in India. The Bolero Neo is essentially an updated TUV300, repositioned and tweaked as a modern and more feature-packed variant within the Bolero range. The TUV300 also had a nine-seater variant known as the TUV300 Plus. This TUV300 Plus was kind of a unique product that had no competition in this segment. Mahindra might be planning to bring it back as the Bolero Neo Plus and expand the legendary Bolero lineup. In today’s article will see what the Bolero Neo Plus might look like by understanding the TUV300 Plus.
The Bolero Neo Plus will look like the same from the front as the new Bolero Neo. It will have a blacked out front grille with chrome inserts. The side profile is where you will see the change with its extended nature. The car will maintain its boxy look. The design, like other Mahindra cars, will look big and imposing. As this SUV will be getting the Bolero badging it will mean that the car will get a heavier doors, a defining line across the side like the regular Bolero. There will be new headlights that are reminiscent of the original Bolero. The Bolero Neo Plus will have a great road preasence.
The TUV300 Plus was an extended version of the sub-four meter TUV300. It was 4400mm long, 1835mm wide and 1812mm tall. If we compare it to the TUV300, it is 400mm long and 40mm wide. The height is the same. The ground clearance is the same at 184mm and the wheelbase is 2680mm.
The TUV300 Plus was powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. It is the same engine that is used on the current XUV500 and Scorpio. However, it runs at a lower state of tune. The engine produces 120bhp and 320Nm of torque. It only comes with a manual gearbox option. Mileage figures are in the range of 18-20kmpl.The Bolero Plus will also get this engine. We expect this car to also get MTT feature like the Bolero Neo. It will make rough road driving and going off-road easier
The interior layout was the same as the Bolero Neo. The feature list includes a 7.0-inch touchscreen, manual air-conditioning, steering-mounted audio controls, keyless entry, voice control, glove-box cooling, power steering, all power windows and cup holders rear and front. In terms of safety, it had dual airbags and ABS as standard across the range. Also with the increased size, this car will be a nine seater with its bigger jump seats.
The TUV300 plus used to come in three variant options, the P4, P6 and P8. The pricing of the P4 variant was Rs 11.91 lakh, the P6 variant was Rs 12.52 lakh and the top-spec P8 variants used to cost Rs 14.55 lakh(on-road, Mumbai). Now with the Bolero Neo Plus, the variants will be changed to N4, N8, N10 and N10 (O). Going by the variant pricing of the Neo, we expect the Bolero Neo Plus to cost Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000 more. We expect the car to launch this year maybe during the festive season after the launch of the XUV700.
