Mahindra has been working on its next upcoming product, the XUV700 for quite some time now. The car has been spotted multiple times. We have consistently brought to you the interior and exterior spy shots of the car as well. XUV700 will be a premium seven-seater SUV that will directly compete with products like MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari and Hyundai Alcazar. As the days for the expected unveiling are closing in, the brand has slowly started giving out teasers of some key features that this SUV will come with. Moreover, news concerning the launch or reveal of the Mahindra XUV700 – we expect Mahinda to launch this car on the 15th of August, as the brand did with the Mahindra Thar last year. Subsequently, we expect an early launch in September.
In this article, we will discuss the latest details and features that this new product from Mahindra will come with.
Sunroof has been an eye-catching feature for most buyers, especially in the SUV segment. With the XUV700, Mahindra will offer the biggest-in-segment sunroof, which they call the ‘Skyroof’. Recently, the automaker has revealed the dimensions of its panoramic sunroof, which measure around 1360mm in length and 870mm in terms of its breadth.
Auto Booster Headlamps
Another feature that has been teased by the automaker is the ‘Auto Booster Headlamps’. This feature will activate once the driver crosses the speed of 80km/h. On crossing this set limit, the throw of light will automatically increase, enhancing safety at higher speeds at night, where visibility can be an issue. We can expect LED units for all the lighting elements in order to achieve better illumination in the XUV700.
Smart Door Handles
Mahindra XUV700 will also come with flush door handles, which the brand is calling ‘Smart door handles’. This feature is usually found in higher-end cars. The door handles will pop out when the car is unlocked via the key or by touching the request sensor on the door and will conceal back once the car is locked.
Smart Air Filter Technology
Mahindra had recently confirmed via a teaser, the availability of a smart air filter that will come with the XUV700. This air filter will help in making the cabin safer for the occupants. According to Mahindra, the filter is capable of cleaning out 99% of bacteria and 95% of viruses in the air.
Personalized safety alerts
Many cars in the market do alert the driver with a beep when the 80km/h mark is exceeded and a double beep when the car crosses the 120km/h mark. However, Mahindra will be taking safety alerts a step further. The XUV700 will offer ‘personalised safety alerts’ with the car. Once the driver exceeds the set speed limit, the custom message would play, alerting the driver.
New Mahindra logo
It is also speculated by many portals & publications carrying stories claiming that the car will debut with a new Mahindra logo. However, the brand has not confirmed or revealed any such information. The logo being circulated around is a symbol for the letter ‘M’ and we cannot claim or confirm that this would be the case.
Engine and gearbox
The XUV700 is expected to get a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine which will produce 200bhp and a 2.2-litre diesel engine which will produce 185bhp. We can expect an all-wheel-drive system in the new SUV.
