Benelli had taken the wraps off their TNT 25 at the EICMA 2015 in Milan, earlier this year. Now, the company is gearing up to launch their quarter-litre street-brawler in India on 18th of December. Benelli is opting for the CKD route with the TNT 25 and the kits shall be assembled at the DSK Motowheels factory in Pune. The 249.2cc motor powering the TNT 25 will be the company’s sole offering in the single cylinder format.

The liquid-cooled motor develops about 24 bhp and redlines at 9000 rpm. Torque output is said to be in the region of 21 Nm at 7500 rpm. Weighing about 150 kilogrammes, the TNT 25 has a top speed in the region of 145 km/h and comes with a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycle gets a fuel tank capacity of 16.5 litres. On suspension duties are beefy upside down forks at the front with a pipe diameter of 41 mm.

At the back, the TNT 25 gets a monoshock in keeping with the segment requirements and is said to be fully adjustable.

In the braking department, Benelli have given the TNT 25 a single disc setup at the front and back, measuring 280 mm and 240 mm respectively. The bike rides on 17-inch wheels with sizes in the popular 110/70 up front and 140/60 at the rear wheel. The TNT 25 will go up against a burgeoning competition, including the likes of the Honda CBR250R, Mahindra Mojo and the KTM Duke 200. Pricing is expected to be at the premium end, given the CKD assemblies, though Benelli could very well throw us a pleasant surprise on that front.

All ought to be clear in a few days from now. So the wait shouldn’t be that agonizing for fans.
