The Verna, on the other hand, is 4440mm long, 1729mm wide and 1475mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2600mm and gets a 480-litre boot space. The dimension reveals that the Verna is longer, but the Creta has more width and height. Also, Creta being an SUV gets more ground clearance. The Verna being a sedan gets a bigger boot. The wheelbase is very closely matched.

Coming to the Verna, you can get the top of the line SX(O) variant which comes with features like an 8-inch infotainment system, ventilated seats, alloy wheels, electric sunroof, LED headlights, fully digital instrument cluster and Arkamys sound mood.

The price of the Hyundai Creta SX variant starts from Rs. 15.65 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). There is no automatic transmission available in this price bracket. With that being said, Hyundai Creta’s SX 1.5 Petrol CVT variant comes in at Rs 18.33 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Dealer discounts and negotiations can bring down the pricing under Rs 18 lakh. Coming to the Hyundai Verna, you can get the top of the line SX(O) variant for Rs 16.91 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). 

Which one to buy under Rs 18 lakh?

Hyundai Creta and Hyundai Verna are great cars in their respective segments. Hyundai Creta becomes a great choice for people who want modern features but are willing to compromise on the variety of engine and transmission options. As mentioned above, the maximum that you can acquire for around Rs 18 lakh is the SX 1.5 Petrol CVT variant. You miss out on the diesel automatic option. This is not an issue if you go with the Hyundai Verna. Since Hyundai Verna offers its top-of-the-line variant under this price bracket, you can choose from different engine and transmission options. However, you miss out on spacious 2nd-row seating space and some features like panoramic sunroof with the Hyundai Verna.
