Tata Harrier
The Harrier is the mid-size SUV from one of India’s leading automakers, Tata. Based on the Range Rover derived D8 platform, the Harrier is available with one engine option. It offers a 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine which comes mated to a six-speed manual and a six-speed Torque Converter automatic gearbox. This engine produces 168bhp and 350Nm of torque. The entry-level variant, XE offers all power windows and comes decently equipped with features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering, rear AC vents, height-adjustable driver’s seat (manual), electrically adjustable ORVMs, projector headlamps and DRLs. The Harrier XE is priced at Rs 17.43 lakh.
Kia Seltos
The Seltos was Kia’s first model for the Indian car market. The car is offered with a 1.5-litre petrol engine, a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Talking about the base model, the Seltos HTE variant offers a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a six-speed manual gearbox which produces 113bhp and 144Nm of torque. The kit on offer includes front and rear power windows, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a 12V power outlet and an in-dash music system with four speakers. The Seltos HTE trim has a price tag of Rs 11.51 lakh.
Mahindra XUV300
The XUV300 is one of the most feature-rich vehicles in the sub-four-metre SUV segment. The car is available with a choice of two powertrains that include a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine and a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine. Its base variant, W4 is offered with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine which is governed by a six-speed manual gearbox and produces 109bhp and 200Nm of torque.
XUV300 W4 is equipped with 16-inch steel rims, multi-mode steering, gear shift indicator, powered tailgate release, an integrated monochrome infotainment system with four speakers, power windows for all four doors, electrically adjustable ORVMs, ABS with EBD, dual airbags, central locking and front seat armrest. The W4 variant is priced at Rs 9.32 lakh.
Hyundai Creta
This mid-size Korean SUV has been one of the best selling cars in India. The Creta is offered with petrol and diesel engine options. The C-SUV’s base variant, E comes with a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a six-speed manual gearbox, putting out 113bhp and 144Nm of torque. The E trim offers features like power windows on all four doors, electrically adjustable ORVMs, dual front airbag, ABS with EBD, remote locking, rear AC vents, tilt steering adjustment and height-adjustable driver’s seat (manual). Creta E variant is priced at Rs 11.64 lakh.
Toyota Yaris
The Toyota Yaris is another car you might want to consider because of the features it offers in its entry-level trim, J OPT. The Yaris is offered only with a 1.5-litre VTVT-i petrol engine option but with both manual and automatic gearboxes. The Toyota Yaris J OPT comes with the petrol engine governed by a six-speed manual gearbox and produces 106bhp and 140Nm of torque.
The base variant is fairly equipped too and comes with three airbags, ABS with EBD, remote central locking, tilt-adjustable steering, height-adjustable driver’s seat (manual), cooled glove box, power windows on all four doors, electrically adjustable ORVMs, projector headlamps and armrests for both front and rear seats. The Toyota Yaris J OPT is available at a price of Rs 10.62 lakh.
