2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class interior images released

The next generation E-Class has been spotted testing several times and now Mercedes-Benz has revealed  the first official interior images, ahead of the car’s world premiere at the Detroit Motor Show.

Mercedes-Benz have raised the bar in the mid-size luxury segment with an elegant looking cabin inspired from the S-Class. The E-Class interiors also have subtle hints from the C-Class. The wide-screen instrument cluster features a COMAND Online and has two displays with a 12.3-inch screen and a resolution of 1920 x 720 pixels.

The driver can choose between three different styles named “Classic”, “Sport” and “Progressive”.

The E-Class features touch buttons on the steering wheel, which is a first on any car and the functions can be controlled by a swipe action.

The E-Class will also have two separate centre consoles for the automatic and manual transmission versions.  Use of LEDs throughout the cabin is in abundance with a choice of 64 colors for personalization of the lighting. It will also feature Multibeam LED headlamps and LED taillamps with a ‘stardust’ effect that Mercedes says is “reminiscent of the Milky Way or the glow of a jet engine”. A Burmester 3D surround sound system makes way into it and has new seats with three different versions, depending on the trim chosen, with high-grade materials such as open-poor wood trims.

“With the interior of the new E-Class, we are giving a new interpretation to the concept of contemporary luxury,” said Hartmut Sinkwitz, Head of Interior Design at Mercedes. “We have designed a spacious and intelligent interior. True to Mercedes-Benz’s design philosophy of sensual purity, it employs technological innovation and high-grade equipment to create an exceptionally emotive experience for driver and front passenger. The E-Class thus not only sets a new standard in the business class. Alongside a workplace and private environment, it also becomes a third place – a living area in which passengers are able to enjoy contemporary luxury.

The New E-Class will debut in January at the Detroit Motor Show and will rival the BMW 5-Series, Audi A6 and the Jaguar XF.
