States like Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka have opened their gates for the American brand to set up its factory. The brand was earlier in talks with the Maharashtra government as well, however, the government has not received any further correspondence from Tesla to date. Now, in a recent development, the Gujarat government has offered 1000 hectares of land to woo Tesla to set up its factory in the state. The land is based in Mundra near the Kutch coast and the government is offering it free of cost. Mundra Port (Adani Ports and Special Economic Zones) is India’s largest commercial port and the Gujarat government is aiming to make Mundra an EV hub. Setting up the Tesla India factory would really push this plan, which the Gujarat government would not want to miss.
