The cumulative sales for automakers has been released. We are looking at the top five brands that have gained massive monthly growth. Last month there was a quite steep decline in sales for almost all brands. All brands that you are going to see below have gained more than almost 150% of their sales last month. Let’s also take a look at the reasons behind such exceptionally high sales this month.

Toyota Monthly Growth

If we look at Toyota it is in sixth place when it comes to overall units sold this month. The cumulative wholesales of TKM in the first five months of 2021, stands at 50,531 units when compared to 24,820 units sold in the corresponding period last year, thereby registering a growth of 104%. Toyota sold only 707 units last month and this was because factories were shut and a lot of CSR activities were conducted. This also included diverting oxygen supply for medical use. This month the Toyota sales rose to about 8800 units. 58% of the total sales were because of Toyota Glanza and Urban Cruiser. Toyota contributed to 3.4% of the total volume of sales of vehicles in India.

Ford Monthly Growth

Ford gained about 544.4% of monthly growth. Last month it sold about 766 units. Similar to that of Toyota, Ford too cut down on its sales as a lot of showrooms were shut due to COVID. This month Ford sold 4936 units which put it in the eighth spot overall. The latest update was provided to the EcoSport where they added the S and SE variants. Even though being the second-highest gainer this month Ford captured only 1.9% of the total market share.

Maruti Suzuki Growth

Maruti Suzuki as every month is topping the sales list among all OEMs. It has overall made sales of 1,24,208 units. In the past month, it had only been able to make 32,903 units of sales. The overall monthly growth is 277%. Maruti has a total market share of 48.7%. There aren’t specific vehicles in Maruti‘s line-up which have performed exceptionally well but the first spot is been taken by Maruti WagonR.

Nissan Monthly Growth

Nissan has 3503 units this month. It takes up to 11th rank on the total car sales chart. With 183.6% monthly growth this company has proved that the Nissan Magnite is the main sales grosser that they can rely on. Last month they managed to make 1235 units of sales. Nissan has 1.4% of the market share as of now.

MG Growth 

MG comes last in this list of highest monthly growth with 146.4% of growth from last month. In the previous month, it had managed 1444 units of sales. This month they did 3558 units. As of now, MG has only four cars in their lineup and MG Hector seems to be the main sales driver. MG too has 1.4% of the market share. This company will soon launch a Hyundai Creta rival named MG Astor.
