Safety

The safety on all five variants is almost the same. The only things that change depending upon the variant are the door lock mechanism and fog lamps. There is only an option of dual airbags and we think that this car should at least provide side curtain airbags for the top variants.

Features

S 11 and S9 are the most feature-packed variants. They cost about Rs 18 to 20 lakh. This gets a 7-inch touchscreen display that supports Bluetooth CDDVDUSB and aux. Also, this includes the driver information system. This infotainment system supports android auto and Apple CarPlay. A very preliminary voice assistant system is also provided but we do not find it super useful. Only the S11 trim get the reverse parking camera with the dynamic assist.

Overall price comparison

We think that the S5 and S7 trims of the Mahindra Scorpio are only to be considered when you want premium looking 7 seaters. When you cross the Rs 18 lakh mark while considering the S9 and S11 trims you eventually walk into the territory where the the Hyundai Creta exists and having some features becomes a must. We think that as of now considering the Mahindra Scorpio is only a good choice when you want a robust-looking SUV with a diesel manual engine but go for the lower variants.
