Maruti Celerio is a much-awaited product in the country. New Celerio will be a great offering for people who are looking to buy an affordable hatchback that will be able to return them a great value for their money. This nameplate was the first to introduce AMT in the budget segment, making it a success overnight. Customers who wanted a budget car but did not wish to deal with constant manual gear shifts found it really convenient. Now, with the new generation car coming, we expect a lot from it. Recently, the patent images of the new Celerio were leaked, revealing a lot of important information for the customers that are waiting for this car. Specifications
The new-gen Maruti Celerio will now come based on the brand’s Heartect platform. This platform ensures better NVH levels along with improved ride & handling. As far as engine options are concerned, the new Celerio is expected to come powered by WagonR’s 1.0-litre and 1.2-litre petrol engine options. The 1.0-litre unit makes 67bhp & 90Nm torque. The 1.2-litre unit makes 82bhp & 113Nm of torque. The Celerio will get manual and AMT gearbox options. However, this time around, the diesel engine options will not be made available with the upcoming car.
Price & Booking
As far as the pricing is concerned, we expect Maruti to price the new Celerio Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000 over what it currently sells for. For the booking amount, we expect Maruti dealers to ask somewhere between Rs 5000 to Rs 10,000 for the new-gen Celerio.
Launch
The Celerio was earlier set to launch in May. However, the second wave of the virus took with it the launch plans of various products. We expect the car to launch sometime around August. The Celerio when launched would take on products like the Tata Tiago, Maruti WagonR, Maruti Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS.
